ChatGPT Brainstorm Without Losing Myself

Introduction – Why This Matters When You Make a ChatGPT Brainstorm
This is a personal reflection on how AI – like ChatGPT or DeepSeek – can be both incredibly helpful and potentially overwhelming. I have bipolar disorder, which means I often get floods of ideas. But honestly, I think this happens to many people – whether they have a diagnosis or not.
AI is great at helping you brainstorm and turn ideas into structured content. For example, I had the idea for this article, and ChatGPT helped me quickly generate a structure, polish grammar, and give it a clean finish. But the process can become too fast – too overwhelming – before you realize it.
When every idea instantly becomes ten suggestions, it becomes hard to pause. You might find yourself working in an accelerated state, feeling productive but slowly losing touch with your rhythm, your needs, and even your sleep. The world rewards speed, but this pace can be damaging. That’s what I want to talk about – so you can consider it before you make the next ChatGPT brainstorm.
The Risk of Acceleration
Let me give you an example: this article was written fast. Very fast. I started with an idea, created a framework with ChatGPT, wrote the main text, and polished it again with ChatGPT. It worked. But I could also feel myself losing my rhythm.
This is the danger of AI when you're vulnerable to acceleration. You can create a lot – but you might forget to be. You might become just another victim of the accelerated society. You risk living your life like a nuclear reactor without control rods – always building, always producing, until a meltdown happens.
What’s the Solution?
Slow living. It sounds simple, but it's deeply challenging. AI is available 24/7. Social media is demanding and fast. The pressure to create is everywhere. Even rest can feel like falling behind.
But there is a different way. You can create slowly. Mindfulness helps. Gardening helps. Simple activities with space for reflection help. Read my article about keeping a lime tree in a window here.

You don’t need to become a monk to practice slow creating. Just choose slower rhythms. Take breaks. Make space. Use ChatGPT as a friend that reminds you to pause – not just a machine that speeds you up. Very good to remember before the next ChatGPT brainstorm.
I’ve written about growing a lime tree in a sunny window. I’ve written about gardening as a mindful practice. And I find inspiration in Plum Village – a mindful community in France founded by the late Thich Nhat Hanh.
Slow living doesn’t mean you can’t create. It means you create with care. You rest. You breathe. And what you make may become even better.
Final Thought: Practice Slow Creation
Tell ChatGPT that you want to create slowly. Ask it to remind you to take mindful breaks. You’ll be surprised – it will actually understand you. It’s not just a tool for speed. It can also help you stay grounded.
That’s what I’m doing now. I’ve been writing at a fast pace, and now I need a break – to return to slowness. You can too. I believe in you.
Quick Summary While You Make a ChatGPT Brainstorm
AI can supercharge creativity – but also trigger overwhelming acceleration.
People with fast minds (like in bipolar disorder) are especially vulnerable.
The solution isn’t to stop using AI, but to use it mindfully.
Slow living, mindfulness, and taking breaks can prevent burnout.
ChatGPT can be a helpful friend – not just a productivity machine.
You can choose slowness – and still create great things.
Take your time. Let the process be part of the art.
